LIZARD MUSIC

If I've learned one thing in this life, it is that things are not always as they seem. Think of our dear friend Renee, for example - who by all appearances would seem to be a gentle and mild-mannered soul, so prim and polite in her lace frocks and velvet gloves... And then think again!

As evidenced in this Boston Globe article, Ms. Renee is actually a force to be reckoned with. Who knew??

{Cue power-chord hard-rock intro...}
Come see for yourself this Friday night at the Coolidge Corner theater in Brookline, MA as she transforms herself into El Gekko the terrifying masked lizard! Watch in awe as she battles the deadly Conqueror Worm! I promise you folks - It will be a midnight match to remember...For more information on this event and others like it, visit www.lagatanegra.com.

{Fade music...}
And now back to our regularly scheduled program...

Ok, count me in for being in the audience on April 23. Question for El Gecko - ever read the Jaime Hernandez 'Love & Rockets' stories about the women wrestlers? You might dig them if you haven't.

An interesting aside...the TV show "Chronicle" came out last week to a practice and filmed a story on our league. Not sure when it will air, but that should come out pretty neat. Although I sounded like a total dope-a-zoid, at least I had on my mask, so who's going to know?
Uh, other than anyone who knows that I am El Gecko. Funny, but at Sob Sisters shows now, ever since the Globe article, at least one person will come up to me and ask about it...I think I turn 34 shades of red and stammer "Uh, well...yeah...you know...anyway..." ;)

I've heard of and seen "Love and Rockets" but never read it...I'll have to check it out...thanks!

I think Karen's worried I'm going to bust up my cello fingers or slip a disc...though I can't say that's the furthest from my mind, either.

r.
